  1. Hi Anton, thank you for this one. Very interesting! A few comments related to your statements:
    “Due to the fact that Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) SR OS doesn’t create type-2 MAC/IP route, Cumulus Linux can’t populate its ARP table”
    If you configure the following:
    *A:PE-1# configure service vpls 1 proxy-arp dynamic-arp-populate
    – dynamic-arp-populate
    – no dynamic-arp-populate
    The router will snoop ARP messages, will add local MAC/IP entries to the proxy-arp table _AND_ will advertise routes type 2 with the MAC _AND_ the IP address. Check out all the options under proxy-arp and proxy-nd (for ipv6) – there are so many knobs that you can use to optimize any use-case!!
    Let me know if that can change the statement ” It could be that Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) SR OS isn’t developed for data centres”. In fact SROS is developed with DC in mind and much more… but sometimes we could do better with our documentation, that’s true 😉
