EVPN/VXLAN for Data Centre with Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) SR OS and Arista EOS – Part 5

Hello my friend,

Probably you are already bored with data center stuff, but I’m writing about it again. The reason for that is very easy: it’s data center era now. With growth of cloud services and so on, we need to have more data centers, much more. That’s why I’m introducing interoperability between Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) SR OS and new product in my lab, which is Arista EOS.

EVPN/VXLAN for Data Centre with Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) SR OS and Cumulus Linux – Part 4

Hello my friend,

We have discussed so far EVPN with BGP signaling and VXLAN data plane with different scenarios: pure switching, inter-VXLAN routing and even BGP peering from VM to leaf. But all the leafs were Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) SR OS, as Cisco IOS XRv doesn’t support VXLAN. In this article we’ll replace on leaf with Cumulus Linux VX, so let’s see how we achieve interoperability now.

OpenConfig. Part 3. Advanced OpenConfig (w/ Ansible) for Arista EOS, Cisco IOS XR and Nokia SR OS: route policy BGP and interfaces again

Hello my friend,

Today we’ll continue (and probably finalize) our conceptual discussion about OpenConfig for the automation of the data center network based on BGP-EVPN/VXLAN. We’ll speak about BGP and associated routing policies and again about interfaces, but we’ll do it from different angle comparing to the first OpenConfig article. So we won’t create the jinja2 templates ourselves, but we’ll rely on built in functionality in “pyang “tool instead.

OpenConfig. Part 1. OpenConfig (w/o and w/ Ansible) for Arista EOS, Cisco IOS XR and Nokia SR OS

Hello my friend,

For long time I’ve been preparing to write this article and finally you are reading it. The topic is really hot as everything, which is named “open” today, becomes automatically fancy and widely discussed. What we will do today, we’ll explore the OpenConfig capabilities on Arista EOS, Cisco IOS XR and Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) SR OS and will try to understand how much OpenConfig is really open.

Two years on air

Hello my friend,

Two years, on 5. June 2016 I have posted the first article on the topic of interoperability between Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) SR OS and Cisco IOS XR. That article shaped the main line for all my blogs, and this line is “interoperability”. But not only. In the first year we focused on Service providers IP Core and Backhaul technologies, whereas in the second year SDN, data centers and automations were in focus and also introduction of new vendors to our interops.
