A couple of months ago I’ve written an article about multicasting at Cisco platforms. It’s very interesting and tense topic, which usually causes many problems to the engineers. But in reality it isn’t so!
Do we really need multicast?
Yes, we do. In modern world the amount of the multicast communications increses enormously. During my preparations to the CCIE I really fall in love with this technologies, though at the beginning I know too little about it. In order to help you, my friend, I wrote the article that step by step shows the configuration and verification process of the most popular multicast transmission technoligies for IPv4 and IPv6 at different Cisco platforms like IOS, IOS XE and IOS XR. In order to be preceisy and complete, I described the theory behind this process as well.
The first publication was done in the Cisco Learning Network.
